EDUCATIONAL DESCRIPTION
The Sugar Factory is a re-invented version of the traditional snakes and ladders game. Each square on the game board proposes a candymaking challenge that will call upon a player’s cognitive skills. The candy brochette challenge requires a player to memorize a sequence of candies and recreate it using his or her visual memory. The cupcake challenge requires a player to pay attention and rely on his or her auditory memory, since another player will be dictating what decorations to put on the selected cupcakes. Finally, the candy cone challenge involves a duel between players where math logic and problem solving will determine who wins.
POSSIBLE APPROACHES:
The game’s challenges have three different levels of difficulty. This allows teachers to adapt the game to their students’ abilities. This multi-level method of play contributes to establishing differentiated instruction and facilitates the organization of requirement subgroup workshops.
